FULL MARKS FOR MYOORA HOSTEL

In a climate where some aged care facilities aren’t making the grade, congratulations are flooding in to Henty’s Myoora Homestead Hostel which has achieved an excellence three year accreditation audit. The facility scored the best possible result: from four standards with 44 outcomes, Myoora achieved the maximum of 100 percent.
Major Milestone

Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Anthony Albanese, and NSW Minster for Roads, Michael Daley announced on Thursday the first section of the Hume Highway duplication project was now open to traffic. Mr Albanese said the traffic switch was a major milestone for the federally funded project to duplicate 67 kilometres of the highway between the Sturt Highway and Table Top.

Decked out in multi-coloured flags, Lockhart celebrated the Spirit of the Land festival with fantastic farm sculptures and scarecrows hanging all over the place. Festival chairperson Marie Van Stein said the quality of exhibits has just blown people away.

BUNN AND EDIS IN RIVERINA TEAM

Local cricketers Jeremy Bunn from the The Rock and Al Edis Henty have both been chosen to represent Riverina in the NSW Country Championships at the Central Coast. The carnival is played on the 28th to 30th November and features all eight Country Cricket zones across the state in three days of tough competitive cricket. From the carnival the NSW Country team will be picked to play in the Australian Country championships in Adelaide at the picturesque Barossa Valley in January 2009.

TRYC PREVAIL IN CLOSE FINISH TRYC have maintained its unbeaten start to the 2008/09 HDCA season with a hard fought 20 run win over Holbrook at the Ten Mile Creek Oval in Holbrook. TRYC overcame the loss of captain and opening bat Jeremy Bunn to the first ball of the game to finish with a modest total of 7/180 on the slower than usual TMCO outfield, after overnight rain.
